West Ham United FC transfer news: Former Manchester City star Yaya Toure in talks over move to London Stadium – reports
Toure set to join West Ham – reports
West Ham United are in talks with free agent Yaya Toure over a sensational move, according to reports.
The former Manchester City man worked with new Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini during their time at the Etihad – with both keen on a reunion.
According to the Daily Mail, talks are already underway between Toure and the Londoners about the possibility of a move.
Although the 35-year-old was earning close to £220,000-a-week in Manchester, the fact he would have to take a pay cut does not seem to have stalled talks.
Dimitri Seluk, Toure’s agent, revealed earlier in the week his client would be remaining in the Premier League after his release.
He also made the incredible claim a top six side could pay as little as £1-a-week for his services.
Speaking to Sport 24, Selyuk said: “Yaya has many offers from different countries, where they are ready to pay a lot of money, but we decided to dedicate the next season to Guardiola. And to prove and show the fans of Manchester City that Yaya has not finished with football.
“He is full of energy and wants to play this season in England.
“At a time when huge sums are being spent in England for the purchase of football players, I officially declare that Yaya is ready to move as a free agent to any English club of the top six with a salary of one-pound-a-week, but with a bonus system based on certain successes.”

In 2013/14, Toure won the Premier League whilst playing under Pellegrini and enjoyed an incredible season.
In 35 league appearances, he scored 20 goals from midfield and was the driving force as the Citizens pipped Liverpool to the title.
Toure joined the club from Barcelona in 2010 in a deal worth £28 million and became an instant hit with fans for his driving runs from midfield and his technical ability.
Deadly from set-pieces, the Ivory Coast legend scored the winner against Stoke City in the FA Cup Final in his first season at the club to secure their first piece of silverware in 35 years.
