Neymar transfer latest: Paris Saint-Germain star wants Real Madrid move completed before World Cup
Neymar is hoping to complete a transfer to Real Madrid before the World Cup
Neymar is hopeful of completing a transfer to Real Madrid before the start of this summer’s World Cup, according to reports.
Neymar, the Paris Saint-Germain attacker, has been linked with a switch to the Bernabeu since the turn of the year, despite only leaving Barcelona for France last summer.
His £198m move to Paris broke the world transfer record, but he is eyeing a return to Spain with a view to sign for Barca’s fierce rivals Real.
And he wants to have a deal signed with Los Blancos before the World Cup kicks-off in Russia, where he will attempt to lead his country to a sixth world title – their first in 16 years.
Neymar’s father, who is also his agent, is said to have already opened negotiation with Real over a transfer that could be worth up to £355m.
And AS in Spain suggest Nike, the sportswear company, could be key figures behind any deal.
It is claimed Nike will help Real pay for Neymar as they plan to agree a sponsorship deal with Los Blancos when the club’s current Adidas agreement expires. They feel helping this transfer will show them in a favourable light and increase their chances of Real looking towards Nike as a new partner.
Neymar himself is a Nike athlete, while Bernabeu superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is also sponsored by the American company.
