Marc-Andre ter Stegen backs Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool target Leon Goretzka to succeed at Barcelona
Schalke midfielder Leon Goretzka
Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen says Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea target Leon Goretzka would be a success at the Nou Camp.
The Schalke midfielder is in high demand following a string of fine Bundesliga performances.
His form has attracted the attention of three Premier League heavyweights while Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich are hopeful of keeping him in Germany.
However there is also strong interest from Barcelona, who are hoping to add some more youth to their midfield.
And now Ter Stegen, who is an international team mate of Goretzka, has hailed the 'extraordinary' 22-year-old German.
"Leon is a fantastic player," the goalkeeper told German outlet Waz.
"I like him as a footballer and as a human. He has something in mind, he has outstanding footballing qualities. I have to say that he could also play for one of the top European clubs.
"What I've seen of him in the national team is extraordinary and remarkable. I also think he will get better in the future.
"No matter who gets him in the end – maybe he stays with Schalke 04 – you can only congratulate this club."
