Juventus want Lazio boss Simone Inzaghi – if Massimiliano Allegri succeeds Arsene Wenger at Arsenal
Juventus could move for Inzaghi, if Allegri goes to Arsenal
Juventus will look to appoint Lazio boss Simone Inzaghi – if Massimiliano Allegri takes over at Arsenal.
Allegri has emerged as a leading contender for the Arsenal job after it was announced Arsene Wenger would be stepping down at the end of the season.
The Italian was sounded out by the Gunners last summer when there were doubts over Wenger’s future, but the Frenchman ended up staying.
Now the 68-year-old is set to go, Allegri has become the favourite to takeover and Juve are fearful he could leave.
It means they would need to appoint a new manager this summer and, according to La Repubblica, Inzaghi is their first choice.
The former striker is building a strong reputation through his work at Lazio and his side currently sit fourth in Serie A.
That would mean they would qualify for next season’s Champions League and Juve are impressed by his performances.
Inzaghi, however, is under contract with Lazio until June 2020.
