Bayern Munich ‘not interested in Timo Werner’ says RB Leipzig chief as Liverpool continue to track star striker
Timo Werner has scored seven goals for club and country this season
RB Leipzig president Oliver Mintzlaff has denied Bayern Munich's interest in Liverpool target Timo Werner.
Bayern hosted Leipzig at the Allianz Arena over the weekend, with the German champions running out 2-0 winners.
And while post-match meetings took place between the hierarchies of both clubs, in-demand forward Werner was not a topic discussed.
Mintzlaff told Sport1: "We had a pleasant lunch and dinner with FC Bayern, with Mr Rummenigge and Mr Hoeness. We talked about everything.
"But we did not talk about Timo Werner. Therefore there is no enquiry or offer.
"If there were, we would be relaxed and would point to the contract and the happiness of the player."
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has declared his interest in the 21-year-old and could be ready to make a January swoop.
